Spring auction approaching. NO TAX on auction sales.

With the new HST in effect, H&DAS is no longer collecting sales tax on auctions.  We apologize for any confusion due to this change not being listed on the information pages for Spring and Fall auctions. They have been updated with the correct information.  Stay tuned for the Fall auction date, and mark your calendar for the upcoming auction:

The bulletin has gone public!

As of this month, the H&DAS Bulletin will be available to the public at no charge. Member-subscribers will still receive the printed version and/or electronic copy in advance of the public, and the current issue will remain protected for 2 weeks. After that, all archives will be available for free download. We are looking forward to more contributions of articles and photos. So get inspired, and send us your tips, articles, photos and ideas!

The New Guinea Rainbowfish Aquarium

Ken, is originally from Australia, but is now living in Ontario, Canada with his new wife Lisa and their daughter Kathleen in Chatham. Ken has kept fish for more than 45 years, since he was 10. A good part of this time he has dedicated exclusively to collect, keep and breed Australia and New Guinea native fishes in his numerous home aquariums, these fish belonging to several families. He has been a member of the Australian New Guinea Fishes Association for many years and is currently the North American co-ordinator for that group. He is also president of the newly formed Chatham-Kent Aquarium Society and is active in CAOAC where he is presently 1st vice president. He will be familiar to many people as the person who operates Lisa’s Lair Bookstore. He is well-read on most aquarium and terrarium subjects. The title of Ken’s current talk is The New Guinea Rainbowfish Aquarium
